MSUR files-Feb 95 - This folder contains files that are included on a disk with each issue of the Update Report. Included is the Vendor Contact Stack and the Update Database.
The Vendor Contact Stack is a database of technical-support contact info for over 500 Macintosh third-party vendors. It contains tech-support voice, fax, & BBS phone numbers, online service addresses & keywords, Internet ftp & web sites, and more. The Vendor Contact Stack requires HyperCard to run. Please note that the data in this file may be out of date, and the current version contains more listings than this one. (Note: If the Vendor Contact Stack quits unexpectedly, copy it onto your hard drive and try again.)
The Update Database contains the entire body of information from which the current issue of the Macintosh Software Update Report is based. Here you will find any additional notes, compatibility information, instructions, warnings, etc. from the software and hardware vendors. You can search this database for any text. Try the name of your favorite (or most problematic) program or extension to find any references to it. The Update Database uses Easy View, of which we have included the latest version.
Internet Web Site - This folder contains a demo of our Internet World Wide Web site. The Macintosh Software Update Report is also published electronically on the Internet. To run this demo, you will need a web browser, such as Netscape, Mosaic, or MacWeb. We strongly recommend Netscape. Our web documents are designed using Netscape and some features are not supported with other browsers. Please read the file “Read Me-WWW Demo” found within the Update Report Internet Web Site folder for more info on how to use the web documents.
